Wandering Around the Twilight Zone

Yesterday I wandered further afield from Seattle over to the Olympic Peninsula.

I wanted to see the area and as a certain nook series is based here I thought it would be fun to visit a few of the places.

We stopped at Jamestown to see the traditional totem poles in the Native American owned town.

I loved this orca whale :)

We then travelled on and passed through Port Angeles.

We stopped one Lake Cresant for a wander through the woods.

It was beautiful Andy wanted to take this bench that was being claimed Matt the forest home with me.

We then headed to La Push!

No Vampires Allowed!

We stopped at Jacobs house :)

We the went on to First Beach.

Then it was on to Forks!

I kept my eyes open ;)

We visited all the sites mentioned in the books. (not the films!)

We found Edward at home!

They did have both of Bella’s trucks.

I loved that they had put a map up for people to pin where they were from.

It was great to see that Forks has really embraced the Twilight books and set out to make people welcome :)

We then drive back to Port Angeles to have dinner at the restaurant from the first book.

I went for Bella’s dish – mushroom ravioli :)

Okay my nerd self is fulfilled for this trip!

Wandering Around Pike Place Market at Night

While in Seattle I’ve also been on a ghost tour around Pike Place Market :)

It started at the Seattle Gum Wall. A must see, but at a distan as it is really quite gross!

When then headed into and around the market. It is fairly creepy at night as there is no one around at all. The market comes alive during the day, but at night it is dark and quiet.

We were told lots of ghost stories while on the tour, but I a. Going to. Leave those for you to find out about when you visit the city and do the tour ;)

1921 1st Avenue – the place restaurants come to die.

Overall a fun night out :)

Wandering Across the Water to Bainbridge Island

Today was another glorious day in Seattle. I managed to have a lie in today which I think I must have needed. So after that I got up and made my way to the Washington State Ferries on the Seattle Waterfront to catch a ride over to Bainbridge Island.

There are great views of the city as you head into Puget Sound.

The sun was reflecting off the water and it was very pretty. I took lots of photos.

I took the Waterfront Trail into town and it was great. I got a bit lost at one point, but even without having a map or knowing where I was I made it to the shopping area.

The highest of the walk was the finding of these fantastic stone men :)

I also stopped for some won’t full ice cream! I went for cheesecake brownie and espresso mocha :)

The trip back on the ferry was lovely, although a little bit colder than the trip over.

I could see Mt Rainer.

Also the city looked lovely in the late afternoon light.

A wonderful day :)

Wandering Around Seattle – City Tour

After my chocolate i need to burn off some chocolate so luckily I had the city tour with Seattle by Foot booked, who I did the Coffee Crawl with.

It was a lovely way to see a different side of Seattle city centre.

Ed the tour guide was great fun. And I also got to see and chat to Heather the owner and the guide for my Coffee Crawl again. She gave me a dumpling as I was early.

In you are in Seattle and want a locally owned and run tour company go for Seattle By Foot as they are super friendly and knowledgable :)

Wandering around the Seattle Underground

While in Seattle I have been working my way through the must see sights and everyone I spoke to had great things to say about this tour!

It it fantastic! So different from anything else I’ve been on. It sets off from Pioneer Square.

It is the history of the area. Originally Seattle was built much lower than the current streets and this tour takes you into the tunnels below the buildings and streets.

It was fascinating to me. I love history and this was a amazing way to show people the unknown world below a city.

I always find it interesting when hearing about the dates of places. Seattle was started in the1800s. It really wasn’t that long ago compared to the history of the UK! It is fascinating that places can change so much in a short amount of time.

If you like history and creepy tunnels this is the tour for you :)
