Adventures in Books… Allegiant

“What if a single revelation – like a single choice – changed everything?

What if love and loyalty made you do things you never expected?

The faction-based society that Tris Prior once believed in is shattered – fractured by violence and power struggles and scarred by loss and betrayal. So when offered a chance to explore the world past the limits she’s known, Tris is ready. Perhaps beyond the fence, she and Tobias will find a simple new life together, free from complicated lies, tangled loyalties, and painful memories.

But Tris’s new reality is even more alarming than the one she left behind. Old discoveries are quickly rendered meaningless. Explosive new truths change the hearts of those she loves. And once again, Tris must battle to comprehend the complexities of human nature – and of herself – while facing impossible choices about courage, allegiance, sacrifice and love.”

I’m not sure I enjoyed this book. I like to finish off series, but it was nothing life as good as Divergent.

This book takes Tris and Four out of the city and into the world beyond and we discover why fractions were set up and why there are more and more divergent within the population.  It was an interesting concept and I don’t want to give too much away so I will hold back from my descriptions a bit. Basically it was to do with genetics after world devastation. I was intrigued, but couldn’t get behind the characters like I did in the first book. But then again I don’t know if I ever really liked Tris, but rather had more interest in how she perceived the world around her.

I feel this book went off on a tangent that I wasn’t expecting from the first two books. Then again it would have given it away if it has talked about genetics in the first book and what that meant about the divergent. I just wasn’t feeling this book I think, but am glad I finished the series.
