“The stakes have never been higher. If Percy Jackson and Annabeth fail in their quest, there’ll be hell on Earth. Literally.
Wandering the deadly realm of Tartarus, every step leads them further into danger. And, if by some miracle they do make it to the Doors of Death, there’s a legion of bloodthirsty monsters waiting for them.
Meanwhile, Hazel and the crew of the Argo II have a choice: to stop a war or save their friends. Whichever road they take one thing is certain – in the Underworld, evil is inescapable.”
This is the fourth book in the Heroes of Olympus series and there is still another one to go.
These are my guilty pleasures. They are fun and action packed adventure stories for children, but I love the word and becoming fully engaged with it while I am reading. I would recommend all the Rick Riordan books as they are fast paced and have a lot of history included. This series looks at the similarities and difference between Greek and Roman mythology and it is really interesting.
This book carried on the story of the Greeks and Roman working together to help save the Gods of Olympus. It seems them travel through hell in Tartarus and through destruction to the Gates of Hades. WE meet old and new friends along the way. There were times I felt it dragged and there was a lot of characters to follow, but I loved the adventure of the overall book. I’m not a fan of multi-narratives, but it does help follow the story from difference characters point of views in order to progress and keep things running in parallel.
Overall a fun adventure filled book that I enjoyed reading. I’m looking forward to the final one of this series and have already pre-ordered it on the Kindle for later this year!
