This month for me has been all about Sherlock. I’m a little obsessed with this show. I remember watching the first series and then waiting for the second. It didn’t seem as long between 2010 and 2012, compared to 2012 to 2014!
I was drawn into how smart and sassy the show was. It made me laugh and think. I remember thinking it seems like a time warp. A show that lasted 90 minutes, but felt like a lot longer in a good way. Since watching the first two series the internet has taken over and sites like Pinterest and Tumblr have filled the wait.
There is also The Hobbit/Sherlock Cross Overs!
I got the DVD as soon as it came out, which was fantastically fast for once, a week after His Last Vow was shown. The extras are great and recommend watching them and enjoying them multiple times!
I loved the little details in this series. The fact Benedict Cumberbatch’s real parents were Sherlock and Mycroft’s parents. The lines about dragons. Drunk John and Sherlock.
I also listened to the Empire Spoiler Special Podcast and listening to Mark Gatiss and Steven Moffat talk about all the fan theories and fully admitting that they lie! I loved that they have faith in the audience to follow along and get involved. I also loved that they brought up a quote by Oscar Wilde – The Suspense is killing me. I hope it lasts – as this sums up my feelings. I wanted to know what happened, but there is something enjoyable about the waiting. It’s like reading a book and waiting to get to the end, but also wanting it to last forever.
But ending like this??? I cannot wait for series 4!
P.S. Sorry for all the photos, I could not for the life of me figure out how to embed Pinterest or Tumblr posts – adding to my list of blogging tricks to learn!
