2013 Reading Challenge: A Year of Classics

As you can tell from my blog I love reading books and I’ve set myself a new challenge on Goodreads.

However it can get costly. I have  the bad habit of buying books before I’ve need them and then ending up with a pile of books waiting to be read.

So this year I am going concentrate on the classics. Not only are they free on the Kindle, but I have wanted to read many of them for a while, but have just never gotten to it.

I have a pile of books I have already bought ready to be read and my audio book subscription for commuting/ I also have access to my local library. I plan to make good use of these resources, rather than buy books as soon as they are published. I can then treat myself to newer books for holidays.

Books I have bought:

  • Clash of Kings
  • City of Bones
  • Before They are Hanged
  • The last Argument of Kings
  • A Weekend with Mr Darcy
  • Puppy Love
  • Monday to Friday Man
  • Faking It

Classics I want to read:

  • A Tale of Two Cites
  • The Mysterious Island
  • The Haunted House
  • Beauty and the Beast
  • Dracula
  • Fairy Tales from the Arabian Nights
  • Frankenstein
  • Grimm’s Fairy Stories
  • The Adventures of Robin Hood
  • The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes
  • The Legend of King Arthur and His Knights
  • The Man Who Would be King
  • The Picture of Dorian Gray
  • The War of the Worlds
  • White Fang
  • A Christmas Carol

This is all links to my plan for sustainable living. I want to become more mindful of how I spend my money and make sure I save where I can so I can splash out every now and again.
