Adventures in Books… Trip Reading

I realised I didn’t get around to posting all the books I read while on my trip and so I wanted to do a post for all the books I read 🙂

One Day

This book was for book club. Not my normal choice and I don’t think I’ll be reading it again.

Fun, easy to read book. A thriller for teens. I loved it just as I love her adult books. I can’t wait for the next in the series.

I read this to finish off the series. I’m glad I did, but I had lost my enthusiasm for it. I am better at reading series when they are all already out I think to keep up momentum.

A Game of Thrones

Another book club one – my choice! I bought this a while ago and Kate also wanted to read it. However I was the only one who finished and Kate missed that meeting. Not a good choice for book club, but I really enjoyed it.

The Lost Hero

I really enjoyed this book. It is a children’s/teen book, but it was fun. I read the Percy Jackson series a year or so a go and this is a new series with the same characters as well as new ones. I enjoyed it so much I went straight on to the next in the series!

The Son of Neptune

This was another fun book. Full of fantasy and adventure it was a quick and easy read.

101 Things To Do Before You Diet

I saw this in a shop in Seattle and then found it for the Kindle. Its a funny but true read. There are so many things you can do before you even consider the word diet. Lots of them are so straight forward you will feel silly for not thinking of them. The writer is funny, but honest. She really understands women and how we think and behave. A must read for an inspiration and motivation. Lose the word diet from your vocab!

I really enjoyed this book. It kept getting recommended to me on Goodreads and I kept seeing it in bookshops on my trip so I got on the Kindle. A really interesting read based on a world where you think everything would work and everyone would live in peace. But the world doesn’t work that way. If you liked the Hunger Games you will like this book too!

Lastly I started A Clash of Kings right at the end of my trip, but am still reading it 🙂

I also started working through Why Weight by Geneen Roth.

I think 8 books completed in 2 months is pretty good going. And starting 2 others! Plus it is on target with my 2012 Goodreads Challenge to read 52 books!
