Every year I make a chocolate house for Christmas and it always disappears!
It started off with my mum wanting to do somehting for Christmas Day afternoon to keep us kids from getting bored and also allowing us to eat sweets!
So we first made a shortbread house. It would have a been a gingernread house, but I don’t like gingerbread, so made mum make is as shortbread. She even did the melted hard candy to make stained glass like windows. We then filled it with chocolate sweets.
However it didn’t go down as well as expected. All the chocolate from inside went, but the house shell was left behind.
The next year we tried cadburys mini rolls to make a sort of log cabin. This worked better, but all the mini rolls stuck together a bit too much and breaking apart on the day was funny.
So we then decided to try making the house completely out of chocolate by using cadburys flakes!
BEST IDEA EVER!
The walls are made up and then we fill is with sweets then put the roof on, which is normall a few bars of milk chocolate.
My favourite part is making the garden around the house. I use walnut whips for trees and curly wurlys for the fence. I then throw a lot of milk and white chocolate buttons around to decorate the garden.
It’s so much fun to make and the family has so much fun eating it!
