Last night was our town’s Christmas light switch on. We’ve wandered up there every year for some time and it is usually a fun evening on the high street. Last night was the first light switch on since the town was made Royal.
There were lots of people up there, which was great to see. Below was the queue for the butchers food, it stretched quite a long way!
There were Christmas dancers and carol singers.
The queue to see Santa was very long and the kids were loving it.
There were 2 very large Christmas Trees either side of the town hall and lights on the other trees along the high street, but that was the extent of the lights. I had hoped they would do something a bit more this year, but no. It looks pretty though and it does make it feel Christmassy 🙂
It was a fun evening and we got to pet some rain deer.
All the shops stayed open late and we stopped in one of the tea shops for some mulled wine. I also bought myself a little Christmas present!
