I feel like the last few posts were a bit down. I don’t deny that things are difficult but I want to live in a more positive way.
So Positivity – what is it?
For me it is about being more optimistic. I have always been a pessimistic person and erred on the side of caution all my life.
Don’t get me wrong, I have taken risks and had adventures, but I worry about everything.
I can easily think of 10 things that have gone wrong over the weekend. I can remember the not so good things from my past clearly. I have to focus and really think to come up with the good things and remember the feelings associated with them.
I would like to change this.
Starting now 🙂
Tonight I am going to start a 3 Things journal. I am going to sit down and write a list of 3 good things that happened today. I will keep it simple and focus on the things I am grateful for. It could be something like a made a great dinner or I completed a piece of work. I want to remember these things.
I imagine on my bad days this will be hard, but I am going to have a back up list of 3 things I can go to when everything else feel hopeless:
- My Family
- My Friends
- My Life
I hope that as I get into the habit of writing things down and spending more time thinking about the good things, the bad things won’t feel so bad.
I’m not sure how much I’ll share of this on my blog, but I hope that this will transfer to my blog posts. My blog is my place to express myself, but I don’t want it to be the place where I vent. I want to be able to look back in years to come and see my journey.
Life is after all one big journey 🙂
